Coronation Street fans thought they had tuned into the wrong programme tonight as the episode paid homage to a popular film.
Trying to apologise to Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell), Curtis Delamere (Sam Retford) produced large white boards with writing in black marker on them, just like in the famous scene from Love Actually.
Fans noticed the likeness of the film straight away and shared their amusement on Twitter.

Another user said: "#Corrie Love Actually was much better."

The episode continued as Emma asked: "What are you playing at?"
Curtis silently dropped the first board which read: "I love you", the next one read: "I'm sorry."
He weakly explained: "It's our film."
But it only saddened Emma, as she said: "If you've any idea how much you've hurt me and humiliated me... and then you do this. Is this a joke to you?"
Curtis replied: "I'm just desperate."
He wanted her to know just how sorry he was but she wasn't willing to listen as she told him to get out.
But he wouldn't leave until she heard him out and went on to explain he didn't take the charity money.
He showed her his bank account but she still didn't believe him as she brought up his previous lies including his illness and his dad.
She said to him: "That's insane. You are insane."
He agreed as he said: "I know, but I'm getting better. I'm getting treatment."
Emma accused him of using her to get to Steve so he could get his hands on the charity money, but Curtis continued to deny it.
She started to cry as she asked him to leave, and as he went to walk out of the door she warned him: "And never contact me again."
