Corrie fans are convinced they know the truth behind Curtis' illness.

Curtis has been telling Weatherfield residents he has a mystery sickness which is incurable.

But some viewers think he is faking being unwell.

Instead, fans of the Weatherfield based soap reckon he is only after Steve’s charity money, Birmingham Live reports.

Curtis is in a relationship with Steve's daughter, Emma. On Wednesday night, during a double bill, fans watched as he popped the question.

Taking to Twitter, some viewers accused him of being "dodgy" and "a snake."

One fan wrote: "I think Curtis is lying about being ill. He’s well dodgy in my opinion. I might be wrong but something doesn’t add up here #Corrie"

Another said: "Curtis is a snake.

"Something weird when he ends up at hospital and only says gave him paracetamol and nothing they can do…Wish corrie was like #GoodOldDays #Corrie"

A third added: "Curtis definitely after Steve's charity money, its a fake illness #corrie curtis" Jennifer Cole agreed.

And a fourth wrote: "We all know that Curtis isn't ill, don't we?"

Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV
