The year has gotten off to a pretty terrible start for Emma Brooker and Faye Windass in Coronation Street.
During their first trip to Weatherfield of 2022, viewers of the ITV soap saw Faye driving herself and Emma back to the street after attending a New Year's Eve party.
With Emma still a bit tipsy after drowning her sorrows over her failed wedding to Curtis Delamare, learner driver Faye got behind the wheel.
As fans know, Emma has been helping to teach Faye how to drive in one of Tim's taxis after her attempts with boyfriend Craig Tinker failed.
But their travel decision on New Year's Day may come back to haunt them after they knocked over Ted, an elderly gentleman who stepped out into the road after dropping his shopping.
Luckily for them, Ted got back up and jokingly tormented the girls over the accident before helping him home.
After making him a brew, the girls returned home where they were caught by Imran Habeeb who warned they could get in serious trouble for Emma being over the limit while in charge of a learner driver.
The guilt of what had happened began to chip away at Emma and she and Faye decided to pay Ted another visit.

With him not answering, Emma remembered his date of birth to get into his key safe and let themselves in.
But they were in for a shock when they discovered Ted, played by Dougie Brown, dead in his armchair.
The pair were horrified but realising that Faye could end up back in prison, they decided to keep it a secret, and trying to hide any evidence of them being in the flat, they cleaned up.
However, they were interrupted by a delivery man and Emma signed for the parcel before leaving it in Ted's flat.
And Corrie viewers weren't entirely impressed.

Martina Hardaker wrote on Facebook: "What a ridiculous storyline for Emma and Faye. It was embarrassing watching it. Why did they need to clean up. Why would they hand around for someone to come to the door. The grandson could easily have appeared. I couldn't wait for the scene to end."
"This storyline with dead Ted is so flipping silly," Paula Turnbull commented.
@CarolAn85072009 tweeted: "Definitely not my favourite storyline, they could have phoned and ambulance for him maybe said they was checking on him after they took him home earlier after a fall doesn't make sense."
"Oh come on @itvcorrie you could have had a great storyline with Emma and Faye becoming friends with Ted. Ted could have been a great character. Loved his sense of humour. Why so much doom and gloom? Maybe he is not dead. Hope so. We need something uplifting #Corrie," @CuthbertScatCat added.

And others think they have figured out what will seal their fate.
"Emma signed her own name I bet # Corrie," @RyanGTweetsTV said.
@ladychloe89 echoed: "Emma probably signed her name and address #corrie."
"Faye and Emma story is like a Carry On movie. Signing for the parcel is a giveaway. Easy to trace and delivery time won’t match time of death. #Corrie," @johnrhueston tweeted.
@MartinV1302 added: "That parcel being in the house will confirm that a third-party was involved in his death especially if the coroner says his death was before the delivery was made #Corrie."
