Coronation Street fans couldn't believe what they were hearing when character Sean Tully revealed his age.
In Wednesday's trip to the cobbles, viewers saw the factory worker, played by Antony Cotton, discussing his plans to raise money for a flat of his own so that his son Dylan can live with him in Weatherfield.
But things weren't looking good between him and Gemma Winter who he signed up to sell make-up as part of a pyramid scheme.
Confessing that she couldn't pay him the commission from the sale of the stock, which was in fact stolen before Christmas, Gemma said: "I feel about 50 today."
To which Sean replied, shocking viewers: "Don't, that is my next significant birthday I mean it’s in a while but even so.
"How is it even possible that I’m going to be the big 5-0?"
And viewers were questioning what has happened in his life.

"#Corrie So when Sean had 2 jobs as a barman & a knicker stitcher he was skint & homeless. Now pubs are shut and non-essential factories closed, he's got enough money to get his first home in 50 years?" wrote one.
Another said: "Sean is pushing 50 and yet the character is still the same as when he first came into it - and still lives in a box room in Eileen’s."
"#corrie How long is Sean gonna keep bringing that up SHUT UP," added a third.
