Coronation Street fans shocked at return of Vicky Jefferies

Coronation Street fans were shocked tonight to see the return of one last year's characters.

Vicky Jefferies, played by Belfast's Kerri Quinn, appeared back in Weatherfield as part of a heartbreaking loan shark storyline.

In tonight's episode we saw Gary Windass, played by Mikey North, call at a house with 'Sharon', Rick's 'right hand man' as he puts it.

Sharon tells Gary to watch and learn as fans of the ITV soap see Vicky back on their screens in a desperate situation where she has no money to pay her loans back and no money for food for her son.

Another said: "Oh, love that Vicky twist with the loan shark."

A third added: "Good to see Vicky again. Shame it's in such circumstances."

Who is Vicky Jefferies?

Vicky, played by Kerri Quinn, first arrived on the cobbles in September 2018 when her son Tyler began making Simon Barlow's life hell.

The teens were involved in a gang together and the pair ended up breaking into Flora's flat and robbing her.

However the elderly woman disturbed the pair and Tyler assaulted her by throwing a jewellery box at her head.

Simon fessed up to the police and dobbed Tyler in, prompting the gang leader to make his life hell.

Vicky met up with Simon's dad Peter and refused to accept that Tyler had done anything wrong.

She was later employed as a driver and packer at Underworld by Carla Connor, leaving Peter infuriated.

Peter, who was Carla's business partner at the time, was unable to fire Vicky for fear of risking Tyler's wrath.

Vicky eventually managed to work her way up to being a machinist and caused trouble for her other colleagues.

In particular, Vicky enjoyed winding up Sinead, who she ended up brawling with on the floor.

She was suspended and, despite initially being allowed back, Sarah told Peter that various other factory workers were planning a boycott if she came back.

As a result, Peter offered Vicky a job at Natty Knicks factory and she left Weatherfield.
