Coronation Street fans predict new 'shifty' culprit for Adam Barlow attack

Coronation Street fans have added another culprit to the list of people who could have attacked Adam Barlow.

The love rat was struck over the back of the head while he drowned his sorrows solo in the Bistro.

Owner Ray Crosby left him in there alone after his family and wife Sarah Barlow found out about his night with Carla Connor.

But Adam has been left fighting for his life in hospital and police are questioning anyone with a motive - and he's not short of enemies.

The initial line-up of possible attackers included Sarah, Carla, uncle Peter Barlow and love rival Gary Windass.

Corrie fans, however, have been throwing other names into the mix, including Peter's son Simon and Ray Crosby.

But there's someone else viewers think could be behind the brutal attack.

"My money is on Faye! She snuck into the bistro to clobber Ray and in her distress she mistook Adam for Ray #Corrie," guessed one.

Another fan echoed: "I think it was Faye who hit Adam, mistaking him for Ray she looks a bit shifty sat on the sofa when they’re talking about it #Corrie."

"Ok I’m now convinced it was Faye who hit Adam thinking it was Ray," a third added.

A fourth agreed: "OMG it's FAYE!!!! #Corrie she though it was ray and it was Adam!"

While Faye Windass has not made an enemy of Adam, Bistro boss Ray is another story.

Viewers have seen Ray turning the charm on Faye in a bid to torment new boyfriend Craig Tinker after he found out about his property plans for the cobbles.

But things turned sinister when Ray made inappropriate comments and then sexually assaulted Faye as she worked at the restaurant before being stopped in his track by brother Gary.

Faye, played by Ellie Leach, is reluctant to report the assault with only Gary and wife Maria knowing what has happened.
