Coronation Street fans predict new romance between unlikely characters

Coronation Street viewers have predicted a new Weatherfield romance.

Those watching the ITV soap this week saw Tim Metcalfe struggling to come to terms with huge medical news.

Following on from an earlier storyline that saw Tim rethink his lifestyle after suffering a heart attack in 2019, the character booked a checkup with Dr Gaddas.

Tim discovered he's having more trouble with his heart, and that he's in desperate need of a triple bypass – a fact he's kept secret from Sally ever since.

Wednesday's episode saw Aggie accompany Tim to a hospital appointment, as he refused to tell his wife what was going on.

With Tim confiding in Aggie rather than Sally, some soap fans have suggested the two could soon become more than friends.

Posting in a Corrie fans' Facebook group, one viewer said: "Who else sees a future fling for Tim and Aggie?"

One viewer said: "Can you imagine Sally’s reaction if that ever happened. Look out Tim!"

Another said: "I suspect Sally will suspect this or Aggie’s husband - but it will be innocent."

A third said: "You really never know with Corrie"

Coronation Street was cancelled on Friday due ITV and the ITV Hub instead broadcasting third round action from the FA Cup.

The Weatherfield-based soap was bumped from the listings, as Manchester City played Swindon Town.

Coronation Streets returns tonight (Monday) for a double episode.
