Coronation Street fans predict murder on the cobbles amid stalker storyline

Fans of Coronation Street predict there could be a sinister twist as Daisy Midgeley continues to be stalked.

The ITV soap character has been repeatedly harassed by Justin over the past few weeks, but she has struggled to get police to take her seriously. Tonight's episode saw Daisy's ordeal escalate further when she argued with Justin in the street.

She spotted Justin with a huge bunch of flowers walking up Victoria Street and saw red, assuming he was on his way to bother her some more. She smashed the bouquet to the ground and stamped all over it.

Justin reached out, trying to calm her down, but as his hand touched her arm it only angered her further. She hit him right across the face not realising she was being watched by a shocked George.

It turned out Justin's mum had just died and he was visiting George to sort the funeral arrangements. George, unaware of Justin's past behaviour, tried to force Daisy to apologise for her actions.

Fans don't think this will be the end of the stalking either. They shared their theories on Twitter.

Westie said: "Jenny, don’t joke about Daisy borrowing Tyrone’s wrench - that’s a murder weapon." Luke said: "I wonder if Daisy’s gonna murder him one day #Corrie."

Doreen said: "Justin asking why Daisy would hit him - seriously why hasn't she killed him and sent him for a Viking funeral like poor old Teddy #Corrie."

Meanwhile, others think it could be Daisy in trouble rather than Justin. Pam said: "Oh I get it. Daisy will probably have PC Tinker knocking on the door because the nasty stalker has reported her for assault #Corrie."

Pete said: "Is supercop Tinker coming to arrest Daisy #corrie". Dan said: "Arrest Daisy! THAT'S ASSAULT! #Corrie."

Soap boss Iain MacLeod confirmed the storyline has plenty of twists and turns to come. Speaking on ITV's Loose Women, he said: "Daisy experiencing this stalker, will continue all the way up to and including the wedding day. That will form part of the drama that will take place around the wedding.

"But I think Daniel and Daisy are for keeps. No spoilers, but even if the wedding doesn't go entirely according to plan, I do think long-term they're a couple that I'm really invested in."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
