Coronation Street fans plead 'no' as Daisy turns 'nasty' on Ryan

Coronation Street fans are pleading with soap bosses as Daisy Midgeley turned "nasty" on Ryan Connor during Friday's episode.

Ryan was hit in an acid attack meant for Daisy on what should have been the barmaid's wedding day as her evil stalker set out to ruin her life. He has now left hospital some weeks after the attack.

But after a little girl stopped and stared when she saw his face, Ryan was left feeling self conscious again, and lashed out at Alya.

Later in the episode, Daisy stopped by Carla's flat to see Ryan but he was down in the dumps and fed up of himself. In a bid to cheer him up, Daisy text Ryan "as Crystal" and said she had been thinking about him and still really cares for him.

An uplift in Ryan's mood was immediately visible, and Carla asked what had changed. He said: "I suppose I'm just feeling a bit like my old self again".

While Daisy was trying to do a nice thing, many viewers watching at home think it was the wrong move. Taking to Twitter, Kez said: "Oh Daisy what are you playing at?!", while Vic said: "No! Daisy what you're doing is for the right reasons but it's nasty".

Courtney said: "Daisy is being so cruel, I understand she wants to help him and feels guilty because he got hurt protecting her but texting him as Crystal is so wrong". Jehan said: "Daisy means well, but I think sending those texts to Ryan as Crystal will come back to bite her on the a*** and maybe make Ryan worse if/when he finds out."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV and ITVX
