Coronation Street fans plead for character to get main role

Coronation Street fans begged producers to give one character their own storyline, after they appeared on tonight's show.

Summer has been acting strangely over the past few days, with Billy suggesting she sees a doctor.

So Summer had a virtual consultation with Dr Gaddas on FaceTime and told her she had been struggling mentally following the coronavirus pandemic.

Summer said she'd messed up an exam and had been very stressed with everything that had gone on during the pandemic

Dr Gaddas listened intently and suggested a referral to mental health services and said she could help Summer with some stress busting techniques.

And lots of fans were thrilled to see Dr Gaddas appear on screen, with many suggesting she should have a more permanent role.

OL said: "Make Dr Gadass a regular."

Hilda Ogden said: "Dr. Gadass needs a major storyline. And a love interest."

And Evie said: "DR GADDAS my queen."

Summer seemed to be brighter following her consultation with the Doctor, but some viewers worry she could relapse in the future.
