Coronation Street fans make demand as Jenny star shares throwback snap

Coronation Street fans are issuing the same demand after Sally Ann Matthews shared a throwback snap on Instagram.

The Jenny Bradley actress first appeared in Weatherfield way back in 1986. Originally fostered by Rita Fairclough, she has since been in a number of emotional story-lines including her troubled relationship with her father and Rita's partner, Alan Bradley - who later died after being hit by a tram.

Jenny has been notoriously unlucky in love over the years, and one problematic relationship saw her paired up with Martin Platt, whom she ran off to France with.

Sean Wilson, who played Martin in the long-running ITV soap, spent two decades on the cobbles before leaving the limelight to become a cheesemaker. He had a brief return to Corrie in 2018, to support son David after his horrific rape ordeal.

Sally Ann Matthews shared a photo of herself and Sean, as Jenny and Martin, from back in the 80s on social media on Thursday. And it led to many fans making the same plea.

The black-and-white snap showed the pair posing against a brick wall. Sally had shaggy hair, and wore a sweater over a pleated skirt with tan tights. Sean had a mullet, posing with his arms folded in a striped shirt and jeans.

Captioning the post, Sally simply said: "She’s always been unlucky in love x". Fellow Corrie star Sally Carman, who plays Abi Webster, commented: "Oh Jenny! [laughing emojis]", to which Sally replied: "It’s a strong look x".

Fans were also quick to have their say on the photo. Karen Parr said: "Jenny and Martin were perfect", while Meinir Ann Thomas said: "Aaaw, I loved Jenny and Martin". Making a reference to Sean's new career path, Jules said: "At least she’d have plenty of cheese if she’d stayed with Martin".

Lee Mitchell said: "Bring back Martin for Jen!", while Muellj1970 said: "Maybe if Martin moved back....". Charlotte said: "Bring back Martin Platt #BBMP".
