Coronation Street fans loved Evelyn's brutal Tyrone putdown

Coronation Street fans loved Evelyn's brutal Tyrone putdown on tonight's episode of the show.

The fallout from Tyrone Dobb's affair with Alina carried on in the latest edition of the popular ITV soap.

Fizz, who Tyrone had jilted for his new partner, sold her story to the local newspaper - which led an angry Tyrone to threaten that he was going to respond telling the tale from his perspective.

But as Fizz found out Tyrone's plan, Evelyn Plummer pointed out a reason why the Jennie McAlpine character shouldn't be too concerned.

She said: "Tyrone is trying to write a story? He can't even write his full name."

The line from Tyrone's potential grandmother sent Coronation Street fans into fits of laughter on Twitter :

One user said: loved that Line from Evelyn. Tyrone writing a story he can't even write his own name

Another added: "Tyrone cannot write he's full name OMG Evelyn"

A third commented: with a laughing face emoji "He can’t even write his name #Corrie"

Tyrone admitted his limitations later on in the episode when he told Fizz he'll no longer be writing his side of the story

He said: "Come on, you know writing's not my thing. I'm no Wayne Wordsworth am I?"

Fizz pointed out the Alan Halsall character's mistake: "Wayne? Don't you mean William?"

Although Tyrone has set his mind on not writing the article, he has yet to convince his new girlfriend that it is the right thing to do.

Coronation Street continues tonight at 8:30pm on ITV and ITVHub
