Coronation Street fans in tears as Sinead Tinker discovers she only has three months to live

Coronation Street fans were left in tears tonight after Sinead Tinker discovered that she only had three or four months left to live.

Sinead, played by Katie McGlynn, discovered that she had a lump on her wedding day to Daniel Osbourne and the pair were left fearing the worst.

The former factory worker suffered from cervical cancer, but was given the all clear after undergoing chemotherapy treatment following the birth of their son Bertie.

However, devastatingly, the couple were right to worry as they waited nervously for Sinead's scan results.

Sinead and Daniel were left utterly broken as the consultant broke the news that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and liver.

They return home and the devastating news sinks in, with Sinead blaming herself for delaying her chemo. However Daniel points out that if she hadn't, they wouldn't have their amazing son.

Later this week, Sinead struggles to deal with the pity from her friends and family and when Chesney contacts her with some words of comfort, Sinead makes it clear she doesn't want his pity.

Heartbreaking.

*Coronation Street returns on Friday at 7.30pm for an hour-long episode
