Coronation Street fans in hysterics at Piers Morgan snub

Coronation Street viewers spotted a dig at former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan in tonight's double bill.

Fans of the ITV soap were in hysterics at the shout-out to the channel's former breakfast show host.

Seb Franklin was rather cutting about Piers as he chatted with cafe owner Roy Cropper.

Kindly Roy approached Seb in the cafe to talk about his budding relationship with his niece Nina Lucas.

"Can I be candid?" he asked.

Seb wasn't exactly complimentary about Piers (ITV)

And Seb quipped: "You can be whoever you like as long as it's not Piers Morgan because he does my nut in."

One amused fan asked on Twitter: "Wonder if @piersmorgan was watching?"

"I will forgive Seb's hair now that he's called out Piers Morgan," said another viewer.

Piers Morgan on his last GMB show (ITV)

"‘As long as it’s not Piers Morgan, he does my nut in’ If ever there was a line that I identify with!!!!" exclaimed another fan.

Others messaged Piers to let him know he'd had a mention.

"@piersmorgan you’ll be pleased to hear you got a mention on Corrie," said one.

"You just got a mention on #corrie @piersmorgan," another told him.

Piers quit GMB in March following his comments about Meghan Markle.

A row erupted when Piers said he "didn't believe" her claims in her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey that she had suicidal thoughts while pregnant with son Archie.

More than 57,000 people complained to broadcasting watchdog Ofcom over his comments making it the most complained about TV moment ever.

Piers stormed off the set at GMB after an on-air row with weather presenter Alex Beresford who criticised him for 'continuing to trash' the Duchess of Sussex and called his actions 'diabolical.'

He hit back after hearing about the complaints to say the 'vast majority of Britons are right behind me.'

He tweeted: "Only 57,000? I’ve had more people than that come up and congratulate me in the street for what I said."
