Coronation Street fans heartbroken for Sinead as she poses for adorable family portrait after cancer turmoil

Coronation Street are rooting for doting new mum Sinead as she posed for an angelic portrait with her baby boy.

Sinead, who is in remission from cancer, was in tears after having an MRI scan and then seeing a photo of her son Bertie with the caption 'where's mummy?'

Her auntie Beth Sutherland had entered the snap in a photo competition, not realising the poignancy of the words to Sinead who is scared she might not yet be out of the woods.

Sinead later explained why she was feeling emotional, and asked Beth to take more photos of her and Bertie as Daniel looked on proudly.

"Sinead!!!" cried one fan with broken heart emojis.

"Please think positive Sinead," urged one viewer.

Rumours have recently been rife that actress Katie McGlynn is leaving Corrie , and she raised eyebrows when she joked that she's been on the soap for 'too long' on the gameshow Celebrity Juice last month.

Asked by host Keith Lemon how long she had been on Coronation Street, she quipped cheekily "too long" before clarifying "only joking."

After the show was screened Katie took to Twitter to explain her comment was made in jest and was 'unlucky timing' as rumours swirl about a 'mass exodus' from Corrie with six people leaving - and the soap star confirmed she hasn't quit the cobbles.

"Unlucky timing with my sarcastic humour on Celeb Juice when these silly rumours are going around," she said.

"I have not ‘quit’ Corrie, I am contracted well into this year and am fully committed to our long running storyline, we do not know the outcome as of yet, which is how we like it!"

Sinead, who joined the soap in 2013, was given the all-clear from cervical cancer earlier this year after deciding to delay her treatment to give birth to her baby boy Bertie.

A Corrie spokesperson previously said Katie is "fully committed to playing out the extremely important storyline she is currently portraying on screen."

"This story still has a long way to go. Any speculation threatens to undermine the storyline for viewers," they added.
