Coronation Street fans heartbroken as Alina suffers devastating loss

Coronation Street's Alina was left devastated tonight after she found out one of her family members had died at home.

Alina rang in sick and sobbed as she discovered that her beloved dog had passed away.

Tyrone saw her upset on the street and they went for a coffee as she told him about her loss.

Alina said she'd had her dog since she was nine years old and that they had been through a lot together.

Sarah came into the cafe and asked Alina how she was feeling, but she was less than sympathetic when she discovered she was off because her dog had died.

Sarah eventually apologised and asked Alina if she would be able to work tomorrow and she confirmed she would.

Alina then went for a drink with Seb, who was also unsympathetic about her loss, making jokes about it.

She was less than impressed and viewers were also sympathetic about her loss, saying that losing a pet is like losing a member of the family.

Shannon said: "Why are people being so insensitive about Alina losing her dog. When I lost mine I was depressed for weeks."

Lucy Loo said: "When my beautiful darling angel dog dies, I’ll be inconsolable, I’ll need a lot more than one day off work."

*Coronation Street continues at 7:30pm on ITV tomorrow
