Coronation Street fans were upset when soap favourite Abi Franklin was ordered to leave Weatherfield in tense scenes.
Former drug abuser Abi has won hearts since becoming a reformed character and finding happiness with her man Kevin Webster and his son Jack.
But in a shock showdown with Kevin's sister Debbie the mechanic was told to leave them alone to spare the father and son pain.

Debbie, who has rarely seen eye to eye with Abi, gave her an ultimatum after she discovered her plan to gun down Corey Brent following the murder of her son Seb.

Jack found a letter Abi had written to Kevin detailing her murder plot to get revenge on teen killer Corey and handed it over to his aunt.
Corrie fans jumped in to defend Abi.
"Debster judging Abi by her own standards - this is the 'saint' who was up to her neck with Dodgy Ray trying to dupe people out of their home," fumed one on Twitter.
"It wasn't that long ago that Debbie wanted everyone to be homeless on the street like she has no right to lecture Abi," another pointed out.

"Debbie really can be a piece of work at times. Holding Abi over a barrel like this," said another.
And another tweeted: "Obviously Debbie hasn’t experienced grief. Abi was struggling anyone can see that the main thing is she’s concentrating on what really matters so burn that letter."
Abi previously relied on Seb's support in paying the bills and looking after her younger children Charlie and Lexi.
In 2017 she suffered an overdose and the twins were placed in foster care.
After a stint in rehab, Abi put the twins up for adoption to give them a better life while she found work as a mechanic at Webster's Autocentre where she fell for Kevin.
The pair got engaged but on Abi's hen night in May Seb was subjected to a brutal, unprovoked gang attack with his girlfriend Nina Lucas.
The builder later died from his injuries.
Corey framed his friend Kelly Neelan for the murder while he remains at large pursuing a career as a successful footballer.
However the net is closing in after evidence was recovered and Abi is determined to see justice for her boy without pulling the trigger.
