Coronation Street fans furious at Chesney's words to Gemma

Coronation Street fans were not happy with Chesney tonight - as he berated Gemma for working at the corner shop.

Gemma is expecting quads with Chesney and is worrying about how she is going to pay for the children's upbringing.

Gemma has started working three jobs - without Chesney's knowledge.

But tonight it all came out - as Chesney found her working in the shop - despite her hiding from him and wearing a ginger wig.

Chesney told Gemma that she should be resting and not working, but Gemma hit back and said: "While you've been thinking I've been doing.

"You keep saying something will come up, but it won't, and you won't let me sell our story so we need to do something."

And fans were firmly on Gemma's side, taking to twitter in their droves to slam kebab shop manager Chesney.

One said: "Chesney's condescending sexism towards Gemma is incredibly obnoxious. She's not ill, she's pregnant."

And a third said: "Oh Chesney shes pregnant she can still work."
