Coronation Street fans were furious tonight after discovering that an innocent David Platt was charged with attempted murder.
Rapist Josh Tucker was stabbed in prison and left in a coma after a riot.
David was given the chance to kill him by the other prison inmates, but instead tried to save his life.
However this put David in the frame for his attempted murder and Shona confirmed that he had been charged.
One devastated fan tweeted: "Omg, David charged with attempted murder, please get him free! #Corrie."
