Coronation Street fans 'fuming' over lack of warning for phobia-inducing scene

Coronation Street viewers were less than impressed last week as some came face-to-face with their greatest fear - without warning.

During Friday's episode, Alya Nazir was left frantic as she was forced to deal with some nightmare guests at Speed Daal.

Things went bad to worse as the delivery arrived late to the restaurant, despite there being a big anniversary booking.

Yet, when the 12-person booking arrived, only three attended the meal - but there was the added extra of a tarantula scuttling around the table.

As a scream sounded from one of the tables, Elaine gasped and Yasmeen demanded to know what it was.

A shocked Alya replied: "Tell me that's not what I think it is!"

The camera went and zoomed in on the spider, which was seen crawling over the napkins on the table.

And viewers had not been expecting that, with one fuming viewer tweeting: "Bloody hell Corrie! Pre warning of spider would of been great. my skin is crawling."

While another raged: "Thanks for the bloody warning about the tarantula not pleased at all with it. Next time put a warning up at the start."

A third wrote: "When TV programmes put the warning of ‘upsetting scenes’ of ‘sexual content’… #corrie really should’ve put one up about ‘spider scenes’!! urrrrrgggh!!!"

It comes as Alya's brother Zeedan returned to Weatherfield last week after three years, with violent scenes airing this evening showing him being attacked in the street.

And the reason for the attack is something that Zeedan has been hiding from his grandmother and sister.

Zeedan had received a mystery call from someone who was breathing down the phone, while he was at the hospital, and then the same number tried to call him again later at the house.

Alya told him to answer the phone but her brother lashed out at her, before being forced to reveal what was really going on.

Zeedan soon dropped a worrying confession that he was in big trouble, and had received serious death threats.

He confirmed that despite claiming he and his wife Mariam were all good after their wedding last year, they had in fact split.

Declaring they were over for good, he revealed he left his wife some time ago and that this was the start of his issues.

Zeedan admitted he knew who attacked him and said that people were after him, because he left his wife.

Mariam's father and brothers were now harassing him and were behind the brutal attack, after learning he was in Weatherfield...
