Coronation Street fans fuming as episode cancelled for new show Walk the Line

Coronation Street fans were not impressed at all on Monday evening when they realised there was only one episode airing.

Viewers usually get a double dose of Weatherfield at the start of the week at 7:30pm and then again at 8:30pm.

However, due to new show Walk the Line being on ITV at 8pm for one hour, soap fans only got one episode of Corrie.

Viewers were not happy at all and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One person posted: "One episode each night this week to make way for walk the line #Corrie," followed by a rolling eyes emoji.

A second fumed: "What is this sh*te and why does it mean we get less #Corrie tonight? #WalkTheLine."

A third viewer tweeted: "The disappointment on my face when #Corrie just ended didn't know it was only on once tonight.. See you tomorrow then @itvcorrie."

Someone else asked: "How come there is only one #Corrie tonight? How come # EastEnders is on for 45 mins tomorrow?"

And another wrote: "I’m honestly devastated that there’s no second episode @ITV #Corrie," while someone else added: "Whaaattttt! No 2nd #Corrie."

Walk The Line hasn't exactly been a hit so far as some people tuning in dubbed it 'Poundland X Factor' after Sunday's episode.

Hosted by Maya Jama, the ITV show sees bands and solo acts perform in front of a star-studded panel of judges, hoping to walk away with a grand prize of £500,000.

Former X Factor star Gary Barlow, Craig David, Alesha Dixon and Dawn French made up the judging team, offering their expert opinions to the hopeful singers.

"A Poundland version of the X Factor...#WalkTheLine," one disgruntled viewer mused on Twitter.

Another agreed, similarly tweeting: "I didn’t know Poundland did versions of the X Factor #WalkTheLine."
