Coronation Street fans fear Hope Stape could follow in her killer dad's footsteps

Fans of Coronation Street fear Hope Stape could one day follow in her father's murderous footsteps.

In tonight's episode we saw the youngster, played by Isabella Flanagan, having a conversation with Joseph Brown, played by William Flanagan.

They were discussing how his grandmother had returned to the cobbles and planned to take him back to Portugal with her, but Joseph wasn't too sure that he wanted to go.

Speaking about it, Hope said: "You are so lucky... I would literally kill my own sister if I could live in Portugal.

"And have my own swimming pool. And get a proper good tan."

Fans on Twitter were taken aback by her comments, but unsurprised as they said that the troubled child was more than capable of murder - just like her dead dad John Stape.

Sean said: "'I'd literally kill my own sister if I could live in Portugal' - Coming from Hope, I can actually believe that. #Corrie"

Shaheen said: "Scary thing is Hope actually would kill her sister #Corrie"

Another user said: "Hope, you'd kill your own sister for a packet of Wotsits never mind the chance to live in Portugal #Corrie"

Sophie said: "Hope saying she’d kill her sister. To be honest, I don’t think she’s kidding #Corrie"

Back in 2010, Hope was welcomed to the Street when she was born three months prematurely.

Her dad, John, died before her first birthday after he crashed his car while on the run for his involvement in the deaths of Colin Fishwick, Charlotte Hoyle and Joy Fishwick.

During Hope's early life she was afflicted by health problems, including a cancer diagnosis at the age of four.

She fully recovered, but later developed behavioural problems starting in 2017, with signs of pyromania and later started a fire which caused Tyrone's partner at the time, Alina, to lose her baby.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV and ITV Hub
