Coronation Street fans convinced Peter is factory roof culprit after incriminating scene

Peter Barlow is the new favourite to be the culprit behind the factory roof collapse on Coronation Street , that caused Rana Habeeb’s death.

Rana was killed off in tragic scenes last week, after she was crushed by the debris after being trapped inside the damaged factory.

A mystery culprit was seen climbing onto the roof before it happened, causing damage to the building that was already unsafe.

Carla Connor, the factory’s owner, failed to tell anyone asides Nick Tilsley and Gary Windass that it was unsafe, and refused Gary’s offer of fixing it due to money worries.

How did Rana die in Coronation Street, and what happened to the factory?

Rana tragically passed away with Kate by her side, while the mystery culprit has yet to be identified.

Now, fans are convinced it’s Peter, played by actor Chris Gascoyne, after his odd behaviour in the fallout to the tragic scenes.

He was desperate to save Carla from suspicion, after she decided to confess all and tell the police she knew about the roof.

Instead, he encouraged Gary not to tell the police about the roof already being damaged, or that he’d offered to fix it.

Gary was reluctant, but Peter insisted he too would be implicated in Rana’s death if he didn’t stay quiet.

He said he was doing it to protect Carla, while fans were suspicious he might actually be trying to save himself.

Then, as Carla struggled to cope after lying to the police and the Health and Safety Inspector, Wayne, she decided to flee.

Peter didn’t exactly stop her, with him planning an exit of his own, and while sharing his concerns he fled with her in his car.

Viewers are convinced he was leaving the Street to avoid his crime, and that the latest episode proves he was behind the incident.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
