Coronation Street fans confused by major change in Weatherfield

Coronation Street fans were confused by what appeared to be a major change in Weatherfield.

In August, Liam Connor collapsed with a life-threatening asthma attack triggered by air pollution.

Doctors highlighted to his mum Maria that it was likely traffic fumes that caused Liam to collapse.

After Liam’s diagnosis, Maria joined forces with Sally Metcalfe to campaign for cleaner air.

But on tonight's episode, Sally was aggrieved to see a local councillor, who ignored her concerns about local traffic, parking his car on the street before catching a tram.

Shouting abuse at him, Sally told husband Tim that she was determined to sort Weatherfield's pollution issue.

However, fans noticed that during the scene, the cobbled streets were unusually full of cars parked on the side of the road.

Ben tweeted: "For 60 years #CoronationStreet hasn’t had that many cars on the street ever. Then tonight there is a major parking problem."

Greg said: "It’s silly that they’ve gone from hardly ever a car, to a parking problem. These type of stories need to build up over a much longer time to make them realistic."

Beppa wrote: "The street never had all those cars? Am I missing something?"

Co Hol tweeted: "Where did all these cars come from? Not long since it was a ghost town."

Becca added: "Where have all these cars come from ????"

And John said: "Have you ever seen that many cars on the cobbles???"
