Coronation Street fans complain as Carla Connor 'goes way too far'

Many Coronation Street fans voiced their disappointment on Tuesday evening after a scene that saw Carla Connor shouting across the Rovers.

While most of the soap's residents were at Chesney and Gemma's wedding, Daisy and Daniel were looking after the pub having decided that going to a wedding would be triggering given what had happened on the day that should have been their own.

Justin's sister Karen was also in the pub, having come to apologise to Daisy.

Ryan and Carla came into the pub for a drink, and Carla thought it was going well until Ryan turned down her offer of a second pint. He told her a woman - Karen - kept staring at him.

A protective Carla asked Karen what she was looking at before telling her to "keep your eyes to yourself or I'll have them out". Daisy interrupted to explain who Karen was before adding: "Before you freak out, she has apologised to me for what her brother did".

Carla was unimpressed and asked why she had said sorry to Daisy and not Ryan. Daniel said Daisy has "been to hell and back" before Carla hit back with: "I'm sorry but whose fault's that?" and added Daisy has a "track record of leading men up the garden path".

Ryan agreed and said she had "split me and Alya up".

Many viewers watching were completely unhappy with Carla's comments. Taking to Twitter, Pritha said: "Who else is super shocked that Carla has just victim-shamed Daisy?" while Samantha said: "I usually love Carla but that was a low blow!!"

Jilly said: "Ooh bloody hell Carla", and Greg said: "Carla's getting nasty". Hattie said: "Carla has gone too far, out of order".

Coronation Street airs each night this week at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX
