Coronation Street fans were left struggling with their own moral compass during the soap's latest scenes.
There was a collective cheer during Friday night's trip to Weatherfield as Corey and Stefan Brent's escape plan was foiled.
The footballer was preparing to go on the run with his dad after evidence that pinned him to Seb Franklin's death was discovered.
Knowing that his son was a killer, Stefan once again turned to his fortune to try and get his son out of the country.

He enlisted the help of Eli's dad, Christian, after he forced them into a false statement during the murder trial earlier in the year.
But Abi already had in inkling he was involved and enlisted Gary Windass - knowing he had a keen interest in Kelly Neelan's murder charge - to help track them down.
And that he did.
Before Christian set off in his van, Gary had a word and got him to drive him to where Stefan and Corey were hiding.

Once there, Christian reluctantly locked the pair in the back and handed the keys over to Gary.
When he finally stopped and opened the doors, they were outside Weatherfield police station with Nina, Abi and her new husband Kevin watching on as Corey was arrested.
And Corrie fans were quick to applaud Gary for his efforts.
"How good was Gary last night? Take a bow! #corrie," tweeted one.
Another said: "Gary Windass was the real hero of that episode #Corrie."

"I've loved Gary from the start, he's a good man deep down," a third added.
A fourth said: "GARY WINDASS YOU ABSOLUTE LEGEND. #Corrie."
But others couldn't help but remember his own murderous past.
"Gary needs to confess while he's at the station himself," one said.

Another commented: "When is Gary getting done for his killing."
"I know we're supposed to hat gary after all he's done but i just... can't #Corrie," a third added.
A fourth debated: "Get in!!! I know Gary killed Rana but that was accidental. I'll never forgive him for killing her tho, but I'll never forget this moment."
