Coronation Street fans call for Evelyn to be next PM

Coronation Street fans were praising Evelyn Pullman again after a line she delivered on tonight's episode.

After fans took to social media on Wednesday's edition to say how much they loved her brutal putdown of Tyrone, the character, played by Maureen Lipman, was in fine form again on the popular ITV soap.

Friday's show started with Fiz Brown telling Evelyn about how her recent date was a success.

The character played by Jennie Mcalpine has recently taken revenge on her ex-boyfriend Tyrone by releasing an expose in the local newspaper about the cold way he jilted her to start dating another woman.

Fiz was expressing concerned that her new flame would be put off by the way she sold the story.

She said: "You don't think he'll think it's weird that I did that, do you? Like I'm some sort of..."

Evelyn interrupted: "Feminist? Perish the thought."

When Fiz questioned what's the bad version of a feminist, Evelyn declared "there isn't one" - and Coronation Street fans took to Twitter to show their solidarity with the statement:

Louise Woodward-Styles said: "What's the bad version of a feminist?" Evelyn "Well, there in't one! " Loved that one script writers"

mostly-at-home-in-london added: "What's the bad version of a feminist?" "There isn't one" Right on, sister, right on."

Doreen tweeted: "Love Evelyn - 'There isn't a bad version of a feminist' #Corrie"

Laura claimed: "Evelyn needs to rule this country #Corrie"

Coronation Street continues Monday at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVHub
