Coronation Street fans blast Aaron as they say 'doesn't he know'

Coronation Street fans have blasted Aaron Sanford after Amy Barlow's rape horror took a dangerous turn. During Wednesday night's trip to the cobbles, viewers of the ITV soap watched as the mechanic woke up from a drunken slumber with a call from Abi Webster as he was late for work.

After pulling himself from the sofa, Aaron, played by James Craven, headed to the garage but on his way, he released he had been branded 'guilty' - quite literally - across his forehead after Aadi Alahan took revenge with a permanent marker for his friend Amy when he passed out.

Aaron was then seen angrily confronting Aadi for what he did, only for his pal to reaffirm his belief that Amy was raped by him. When he argued that he had passed out when Aadi launched his plan to mark Aaron, Aadi shot back that so was Amy when he took advantage of her.

Meanwhile, Amy, played by Elle Mulvaney, ended up hospitalised after downing a bottle of vodka after getting a letter from her university to say she is behind on her work and failed to submit a project. After attempting to bury the truth of what really happened with Aaron, she was found by Summer Spellman in Victoria Garden and was rushed to hospital .

Amy was praised for her bravery as she finally admitted to her parents Tracy and Steve: "I was lying, he did rape me. I'm struggling. I know I need help." There was then a jarring moment as the doctor arrived and asked rather insensitively: "Going to be teetotal from now on then?"

And soon after, Aaron knocked on to check how Amy was. Steve threatened to punch him but Amy told her parents she wanted a moment to speak with Aaron and once her family had left, she asked him to finally admit what he'd done.

"You can't bring yourself to say [the word 'rape'], but you have no problem doing it," Amy told him. Aaron once again refused to listen leaving Steve and Tracy to comfort a heartbroken Amy after he left.

But Corrie fans were left distracted by the new 'softer' Tracy and wondered if Aaron actually knows anything about her past, having previously murdered her ex Charlie Stubbs in cold blood.

@Mel_Navan tweeted: "#Corrie no one told Aaron that Tracy is a murderer? No." @LouiseHazeldine said: "He’s the stupidest character in the show at the moment - doesn’t he know Amy’s mother was in prison for murder? #Corrie." @a___w89 posted: "Tracy’s getting soft in her old age. 10 years ago she’d have murdered him.. literally #corrie."
