Coronation Street fans baffled as they 'hear EastEnders theme tune playing'

Coronation Street viewers were left confused watching Friday's episode as they were convinced they heard the EastEnders theme tune.

During a scene with Billy Mayhew and Todd Grimshaw, Billy started playing his brand new piano.

For the first few notes, the song sounded a lot like the EastEnders theme tune, leaving fans briefly very confused.

One tweeted: "I thought Billy was playing the EastEnders theme on that piano for minute!"

"I thought Billy was playing the # EastE nders theme tune at first # Corrie @ bbceastenders @ itvcorrie # corrie ," commented another.

"Totally thought Billy was playing the EastEnders theme tune then @ itvcorrie ," penned a third.

A fourth remarked: "For about three notes, I thought Billy was about to play the EastEnders theme... # Corrie ".

Billy claimed he would only be playing hymns, and later on began to play Oh When The Saints Go Marching In.

Meanwhile, Paul told teenager Will to stop contacting him or he would tell the charity, after Will was secretly being paid by Todd to get Paul to break the rules at the phone in centre.

It's all part of Todd's cruel plan to split up Billy and Paul by getting Paul in trouble for giving his number out to Will, who he thought desperately needed help.

The episode was a heart-wrenching one as Peter Barlow had a horror seizure which led to him being told he must withdraw slowly from alcohol.

His dad Ken Barlow battled his own ill health along with the stress of following Peter around trying to stop him from drinking.

Meanwhile Carla Connor met an old flame called Lucas who made his flirty feelings very clear and invited her for a weekend away with him.

Carla was tempted but battled her conscience, before Peter found her and begged her not to leave.

Carla told Peter they were over and that she was no good for him in heart-wrenching scenes, before heading off with Lucas.
