Coronation Street fans baffled after spotting epic blunder as Sarah spies on Gary

Coronation Street viewers were more than a little confused as they spotted Sarah Platt driving a car on Wednesday.

The popular character, played by Tina O'Brien, was shown following boyfriend Gary Windass in a Votzwagon Golf after suspecting him of cheating.

However, fans were quick to point out a huge problem with the scenes.

Noting that they had never seen Sarah learn to drive since her character was born on the soap in 1987, fans questioned where she had suddenly acquired the skill from.

They went on to note that they'd never even seen Sarah's car around Weatherfield, criticising the soap for their lack of continuity.

"Since when did Sarah a) drive; b) own a Golf?," one bemused viewer wrote.

While another added: "Where do the characters of Corrie keep all these cars that they drive around when needed".

A third chipped in: “Where have all these cars come from? Since when could Sarah drive?”

The scenes came after Sarah grew increasingly suspicious Gary was cheating after spotting him going into an unknown house.

Of course, viewers knew that she had no need to worry about her marriage, as Gary had actually been working as a debt collector on the sly.

Her boyfriend was simply paying a visit to a client who owed him money.

*Coronation Street continues on Friday at 7:30pm on ITV.
