Coronation Street fans all ask the same question after David Platt arrest

Coronation Street fans were all left asking the same question after David Platt was arrested on tonight's show.

The latest episode of the long-running soap continued from the dramatic events earlier in the week when Todd Grimshaw was the victim of a hit-and-run accident.

David and Shona Platt believe they are responsible for the incident but have not yet come clean to the police about their part in the crime.

The ITV show's villain has now recovered from the accident and the first episode of Wednesday's double header started with him moving into the Platt household.

The Gareth Pierce played character has set his sights on blackmailing the Platts to see if he can gain an advantage from the situation.

But the end of the episode featured a shocking development as policeman Craig Tinker appeared to announce that he was arresting David for failing to report a road accident.

And fans of the show took to Twitter to all make the same point about how the police officer has been forced to arrest another one of his neighbours.

One user said: "Craig has arrested half of his neighbours at this point.."

Another added: "Is Craig the only policeman in weatherfield."

A third said: "Is Craig the only copper in manchester?"

A fourth commented: "Are there any of his neighbours left that Supercop Tinks hasn't arrested yet?"

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV and ITVHub.
