Coronation Street fans accuse Mary Taylor of swearing in pre-watershed episode

Coronation Street viewers accused Mary Taylor of swearing on the ITV soap on Wednesday, during the pre-watershed episode.

The Corrie favourite was left outraged after phoning into a radio show to compete in a quiz, with a £1,000 prize.

But despite thinking her chances were pretty high, she wasn't unaware she was competing against Weatherfield resident Gemma Winter.

Gemma was cheating though, with Brian helping her with the answers, and unfortunately for Mary she lost out on the money.

Mary was furious at losing, causing her to shout “oh fudge” live on air.

The radio host wasn’t impressed, and told the florist to watch her language as she was still on the show.

But it’s what Mary did next that left viewers in hysterics, and believing Mary had sworn.

Fans asked if Mary 'flicked the V sign' at the radio (ITV)

Clearly not happy with being told off, Mary turned her back to the radio while placing her index finger and middle finger on her neck.

Fans were convinced Mary was “flicking the V sign" at the host and her competitor.

One viewer asked: “Did Mary flick the V’s?”

Another tweeted: “LMFAO at Mary to the radio.”

Other viewers commented on the hilarious moment, as many said they were loving “angry Mary”.

Gemma eventually confessed to Mary that it was her on the call with her, feeling guilty about her missing out on the cash.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
