Coronation Street drops worrying update about Yasmeen after heart attack ahead of trial

As Yasmeen Nazir remained off-screen on Coronation Street on Monday, there was worrying news about her condition.

The character suffered a heart attack last month ahead of her trial, while she was in prison.

There were fears for her life - while she survived to the relief of her loved ones.

Yasmeen now remains in hospital it seems, while the character remains off-screen amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Actress Shelley King revealed early last month that she had yet to return to set after filming continued again.

But as the character remains away from the Street, it seems there could be more concern ahead.

Recently, fans saw Geoff control and manipulate his current wife Yasmeen Nazir for months, until she snapped and almost killed him.

She's in prison, currently in hospital, after her trial was postponed due to her ill health.

Sally Metcalfe was speaking to Ryan Connor in the pub, when he issued an alarming update about her condition.

He is dating Yasmeen's granddaughter Alya Nazir, and has supported the pair ever since she was arrested.

Sally asked him: "How's Yasmeen?" after recently offering her support - despite being Geoff's daughter in law.

Ryan revealed: "No change. They're having a meeting today to decide if she needs a bypass."

Sally gasped over the news, upset and unaware of her condition.

Yasmeen will continue to recover in hospital for the foreseeable, while exact details on her condition are yet to be confirmed.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm on ITV.
