Coronation Street death horror for Leanne Battersby as drugs plot backfires

When Leanne Battersby stepped in to help her son Simon on Coronation Street she didn't realise how far in deep she'd end up with drugs lord Harvey.

The soap's latest villain, played by Will Mellor, roped Leanne in with his drugs gang and now she's selling for him.

To stay undercover Leanne, played by Jane Danson, has been wearing a nurse's uniform.

In Wednesday night's Corrie double bill Harvey dropped off more drugs with Leanne and ordered her to put on her uniform.

Having made the drop, Leanne headed home, but when a woman approached and asks her to help a man who had collapsed at the tram station, Leanne was horrified.

Instead of helping, she told her to ring an ambulance and ran off.

Later she was distraught to hear that the man had died of a heart attack.

"Maybe he'd still be alive," she told vile Harvey, who found it funny when she told him.

Fans took to Twitter to air their views about the scenes.

"How selfish of Leanne not to save that bloke's life," said one.

"Just say it’s fancy dress or something Leanne," urged another.

"Leanne should of just admitted she's not a nurse. She didn't have to run away like that," said another viewer.

"Omg he died. I bet Leanne is feeling well guilty. If only she wasn't doing the job in the first place!" exclaimed another.

Later, having reached a decision, Leanne went to the police station and reported Harvey for his drugs operation, only to find herself arrested.

Leanne tried to help Simon when she found out the teenager had been selling drugs to make ends meet for them following the death of her toddler son Oliver at the end of last year.

She was drawn into his world when she went to Harvey to pay him off but only had half the cash.
