Coronation Street Corey's defence slammed by fans who point out huge flaw

Coronation Street fans were quick to point out a huge flaw in Corey's defence during tonight's show.

Seb's murder trial continued on Friday's episodes of the popular ITV soap.

Nina Lucas recounted who killed her boyfriend earlier this week - and remembered how it was Corey who repeatedly kicked Seb in the head.

Corey took the stand in the first half of Friday's double header and gave a different account of the incident.

The Maximus Evans played character accused Kelly of committing the crime and said he failed to restrain her from attacking Seb.

However, Coronation Street fans were sceptical of the account and pulled apart his defence on Twitter by pointing out the size difference between the two characters.

One user said: "Kelly is like 5ft something and Corey is over 6 foot Like he couldn’t over power her."

Another added: "Corey making out he couldn’t stop little 5 ft nothing Kelly"

A third commented: "I've said it before an I'll say it again. Surely police investigators can tell the difference between whether someone was kicked to death by a teenage girl and a murderous beating by a lad twice her size. Idk its a sticking point for me in this."

A fourth posted: "It's just not making sense, Big Corey cant stop Kelly kicking a man to death while she was drunk!? Come on people ! Corey is obviously lying."

A fifth said: "Corey “I couldn’t control Kelly, she was out of control” Hold on a minute Kelly is smaller than you Corey and doesn’t weigh much. It doesn’t make sense pal!"

Viewers were delighted when prosecutor Imran Habeen took the stand to rip apart Corey's defence.

He said: "You're an athlete, you're fit, strong, and healthy - and you expect a jury to believe that you couldn't stop Kelly from attacking someone."

The lawyer eventually regretted how hard he went in on Corey as he forced him to tears while on the stand - and Kelly ended the episode being escorted out of the court after she launched an attack against one of Corey's friend who was delivering his account of the night.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV and ITVHub.
