Coronation Street confirms Kelly Neelan's fate after teen's suicide attempt

Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed the fate of Kelly Neelan, after she made a suicide attempt in prison.

Teenager Kelly tried to take her own life in a sad twist, following a shocking verdict in court.

A new video spoiler for next week, obtained by Metro.co.uk, has revealed Kelly will thankfully survive the attempt, as she is confirmed to be "stable" in hospital.

Toyah informs Imran that she has been stabilised as he races to the hospital in the video teaser.

Kelly will need a lot of support from those around her in the aftermath. She had just been charged for the murder of Seb Franklin, while his real killer Corey Brent walked free with no remorse.

Corey painted Kelly as the killer, lying under oath in court about the events that resulted in the death of Seb, and the attack on his girlfriend Nina Lucas.

While Kelly was there, flashbacks confirmed she tried to stop Corey as he brutally kicked Seb in the head and body, with him later dying from his injuries.

After claiming innocence in court and spinning a lie about him being the one trying to stop Kelly from killing Seb, he managed to convince the jury he was not the culprit - backed by witnesses his dad had paid off.

His plan to frame Kelly worked, with her charged with the murder and sent down - while her sentencing has yet to take place.

Fearing she would not be able to clear her name, she asked lawyer Imran what her sentence might be.

He could not confirm, but said she was looking at a minimum of 12 years in prison.

Kelly broke down, telling Imran: "I’ll be 30! My friends will be married, they’ll have kids. I can’t do it Imran, I can’t!"

Later in the episode, a prison warden was seen approaching her cell door and looking in before appearing horrified by a discovery.

After pressing the alarm it was clear something was wrong, and soon Toyah received a phone call that confirmed the teen had been taken to hospital after attempting to take her own life.

Stunned, she told her sister Leanne: "It’s Kelly, she’s attempted suicide."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
