Coronation Street revealed whether Geoff Metcalfe was alive after he was stabbed by his wife Yasmeen Nazir on Friday.
The character finally pushed his victim to the edge, after months of abuse and torment.
Geoff has been manipulating her and isolating her from loved ones, keeping her firmly under his control.
Things took a horrific turn on Friday, days after cheating Geoff blamed her for him being diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection - despite knowing it was him who gave it to her.
Starving her and keeping her in the house when she tried to escape, his last attack saw him verbally tormenting her and scaring her as he wielded a knife.
Yasmeen hit him over the head with a bottle, before stabbing the broken glass into his neck.
On Monday, a visibly shaken Yasmeen feared she'd killed him in the immediate fallout.
She eventually called 999, and declared she had killed her husband.
As police and ambulance crews raced to the scene, inside the house Geoff remained lifeless on the ground covered in blood.
But it was revealed he was in fact alive, and had a pulse - while it was incredibly weak.
As he was checked over, it was revealed he'd suffered major blood loss.
Those at the scene confirmed he had shallow breathing and had a laceration to the neck and was in arrest.
He was rushed to hospital as the residents watched on in horror.
Yasmeen was taken away by the police, while Geoff's son Tim went with him to the hospital.
Later, Tim confirmed Geoff wasn't out of the woods - and might not pull through.
Remaining on a ventilator and in a coma, Tim said his dad needed a blood transfusion and that he was weak.
He added how Yasmeen had just missed an artery and he was inches from death.
Tim warned his family they needed to prepare for the worst, but will he pull through?
Viewers were devastated for Yasmeen, as she faced potential murder charges.
