Coronation Street confirms Elaine's real identity as Tim's 'dead' mum after dark twist

Coronation Street have confirmed rumours that Elaine Jones is actually Tim Metcalfe's mother Tessa.

Though Tim might get a bit of a shock as he has believed that his mum was dead for most of his life...

As all of the residents turn their backs on Geoff following claims he was abusing wife Yasmeen, the radio DJ is desperate to keep his son onside.

But everything may begin crumbling down following Elaine's arrival last week.

Elaine will be confirmed as Tim's 'dead' mum (ITV)

Elaine visited Yasmeen in prison and told her that Geoff also abused her too.

Her story enabled Yasmeen to finally stand up to her vile husband and turn on him in a vicious phone call.

However, despite Yasmeen's strength, she ended up collapsing after suffering a heart attack and was rushed to hospital.

This week, Elaine will introduce herself to Tim's wife Sally as Tim's mum.

Sally, who has grown incredibly suspicious of Geoff after a number of warning signs, is keen for Tim to speak to Elaine.

But Geoff hears word that Elaine is around and quickly ensures that he intervenes.

A source told Metro: "Sally urges her to not give up on Tim as one day he’ll understand why she left. As Elaine heads to look for Tim, she’s horrified when Geoff approaches her instead!"

Yet Geoff finds himself in a precarious situation, with even his formerly loyal granddaughter Faye suspecting him too.

What is Geoff planning to do next?

*Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV
