Coronation Street confirms character return for Ray Crosby drama amid death fears

Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed a character return for next week - with it not previously known that Ray Crosby knew the person in question.

Gangster Mick Chaney is back, months after threatening to murder Todd Grimshaw - who he revealed to be an ex who conned him out of his money.

The character was last seen holding Eileen Grimshaw hostage, before Gary Windass knocked him out.

Mick soon returned the favour and beat him up, before he made a swift exit.

But he returns next week on the ITV soap, with actor Neil Bell reprising the role for a stint.

This time, he wants revenge on street villain Ray - and he can join the queue.

Mick shows up with his heavies and attacks Ray, after it's revealed he owes him money.

Ray is in the midst of buying out the street, planning to demolish the houses and buildings as part of his new development venture with Debbie Webster.

But amid fears he will kill Abi Franklin as she suffers a shock collapse, there's danger in store for the villain too.

Mick chucks Ray out of a van and tells him he has 24 hours to pay up, or else.

The threat leads to his plans for the street being at risk of spiralling out of control, as he dips into the business funds to pay him off.

But will this be the last we see of Mick, or will he be forced to teach Ray a lesson once more?

Elsewhere, and Abi will be left fighting for her life after a confrontation with Ray - just as Faye Windass exposes him for attempting to rape her.

Abi tries to get more evidence about his other crimes, leading to a showdown that ends with Abi lifeless on the ground.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
