Coronation Street: Carla goes missing as paranoia over Rana's death escalates

Carla Connor goes missing on Coronation Street next week, as she grows increasingly paranoid in the wake of Rana Habeeb’s death.

Rana died when the factory roof collapsed earlier this month, on the day of her wedding to Carla’s sister Kate Connor.

With residents finding out Carla knew the roof was damaged ahead of the collapse, she’s been blamed for Rana’s death by those closest to her.

Next week things take a horrifying turn when Carla begins receiving messages from “Rana” online.

Peter Barlow is quick to accuse Kate and Rana’s brother Imran over the messages, but they protest their innocence.

While they try to work out who’s really behind it, Carla begins to crumble from the guilt and the paranoia.

Kate agrees to help Peter identity the culprit but still angry with Carla, she says it’s just to prevent them from sullying Rana’s memory.

As the messages continue, Carla fears she’s being watched and covers the webcam on her laptop.

Peter grows concerned for his on/off lover, but his worry only encourages her erratic behaviour as she believes he’s being brainwashed.

Later on in the week, Peter and his father Ken are worried for Carla, as her odd behaviour continues.

She scribbles the words “watching” and “murder” on a crossword, and suddenly believes she’s being poisoned, chucking her tea away.

Things take another turn when Carla leaves the house barefoot, and Peter finds her staring at the remains of the factory and works out she’s seriously ill, taking her to the medical centre.

But fearing it’s a trap, she’s alarmed when Toyah informs her and Peter that she needs to see a mental health specialist.

While in the room alone, Carla escapes through the window, leaving a distressed Peter with no option but to call the police and report her as missing.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
