Coronation Street announces beloved star's shock retirement after six years

Coronation Street have announced the retirement of a crucial star of the show - guide dog Mr Quinn.

The much-loved Labrador has appeared as an extra on the cobbles for six years but will enjoy chilling out away from Weatherfield.

For his final picture on the cobbles, he posed with his trainer and actors Mikey North (Gary Windass) and Chris Gascoyne (Peter Barlow).

The ITV soap's official Instagram page tweeted the photo and captioned it: "Let's all 'paws' to bid farewell to Coronation Street's resident guide dog, Mr Quinn who is retiring today after 6 years as an extra on the cobbles."
