Coronation Street actress supported as she's second star to announce exit this week

Lucy Avison has been supported by fans after she announced her Coronation Street exit.

The soap actress is known for her portrayal of Chloe Pearson on the Cobbles. The social worker has been a part of a major storyline in the show as she was assigned to Alfie Franklin.

Abi Webster and Imran Habeeb's baby was born three months premature and neither parent was aware he was on the way. The parents since endured a turbulent period in Weatherfield, which culminated with Imran's death.

Lucy took to Twitter to reveal her onscreen counterpart's time on the Cobbles has came to its end. She said: "Hey folks! Just letting you know that tonight is my last appearance as Chloe Pearson @itvcorrie.

"I had such a wonderful experience, what started as one episode became nine!!! I am so looking forward to seeing what comes next and forever grateful for the opportunity xx" Followers flooded the comments to congratulate Lucy for her successful time on the show.

Cinders said: "You smashed it well done"

Jack added: "You’ve been brilliant Lucy"

Sue commented : "You’ve been great Lucy! Wishing you the best for what comes next"

Silvana tweeted: "You’ve played her so well. Great work and good luck with whatever comes next."

Lucy is the second Corrie star to leave the show this week. Jamie Kenna, who played Phill Whittaker in the soap, confirmed his exit yesterday. He said: "The modern day Jack and Vera are reunited and I feel so honoured to have played my part in that.

"Jennie [McAlpine] and Alan [Halsall] are the best people to work with and I've been so lucky. I just wanted to say a massive thank you for the love and support over the last year. I have had an absolute blast. I love this place and this show. Who knows? Maybe it isn't the end and they'll bring Phill back, but for now it's a massive goodbye from me."
