Coronation Street actor wows fans as he looks unrecognisable after panto makeover

A well-known Coronation Street actor looks completely unrecognisable after undergoing a makeover for panto.

The 54-year-old's silver grey hair has been replaced by long dark locks and a matching beard for his role as the Sherriff.

The actor is none other than Tristan Gemmill who played the role of cheating chef Robert Preston on the cobbles.

Tristan is starring in Robin Hood at Nottingham Theatre Royal - and couldn't resist showing off his new look.

Looking rather menacing, Tristan shared a close up snap of his face on Instagram and captioned it: "The Sheriff is in the house!!"

Tristan's 19.5k followers were quick to comment on the post with one person writing: "PHWOAR!!!"

Another commented: "Great hair Tristan.," while a third added: "Absolutely incredible."

Tristan played the role of Tracy Barlow's former husband Robert in Coronation Street from 2015 to 2019, taking over from original actor Julian Kay.

The character was killed off on Christmas Day back in 2019, despite having moved on to a new love interest - Kym Marsh's character Michelle Connor.

Breaking the news on Twitter at the time, Tristan wrote: "Folks, I just wanted to let you know that the time has come for me to hang up the chef’s gear and head for pastures new.

"There is still a lot of drama & shenanigans to come for Robert but I will be leaving Corrie later in the year."

Since leaving Coronation Street, Tristan has also appeared in Grantchester as Gene Daltrey.
