Coronation Street actor teases this isn't the last we've seen of Corey Brent

Corrie fans have finally seen the last of killer Corey Brent - for now, at least.

This means it's the end of actor Maximus Evans' time on the cobbles.

The 22-year-old first arrived in Weatherfield back in 2019 when he was introduced to Asha Alahan by Amy Barlow.

In an attempt to impress him, Asha stripped during an online video chat, which he recorded and was later shared online by Kelly Neelan.

But nothing upset viewers more than when Corey brutally killed Seb Franklin after attacking him and girlfriend Nina Lucas over the way she looked, the Manchester Evening News reports.

Six months later, Corey has been brought to justice.

His attempt to flee the country with his dad, Stefan, ended in disaster, after being hijacked by Gary Windass.

Despite still not confessing to what he had done, the new evidence was stacked against him and the Crown Prosecution Service agreed to charge him with murder.

Max shared his own simple goodbye message on Twitter after the episode aired - and it hinted there could be a return for Corey.

The actor wrote: "And just like that..he was gone.

"Thank you all for the ride, it’s been a blast. Over & out...for now #corrie @itvcorrie."

His co-stars rushed to tell him how much he will be missed.

Sally Carman, who plays Abi, said: "I’m going to miss you. What a fabulous job you did."

George Shuttleworth actor Tony Maudsley added: "Bravo Max!! What a cracking job you did! Hope that there London is being good to you. Can't wait to see what you do next!!"

Toyah Battersby actress Georgia Taylor wrote: "What a blooming triumph, Max! From an initial handful of episodes to an incredibly compelling and complex villain. Top work."

Vicky Myers, who plays DC Swain and got the pleasure of charging Corey, said: "Max, what a journey you’ve had! It’s been a joy and a pleasure! Thank you."

Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV
