Coronation Street actor Jimmi Harkishin says his car stunt explosion 'took my breath away'

Corrie 's Dev Alahan is blown off his feet by a massive fireball as his car explodes after a crash.

Actor Jimmi Harkishin says the stunt, which will air on TV next week, "took his breath away".

Viewers will see Dev take twins Aadi and Asha on a family holiday, but a violent storm hits after they take a wrong turn down a country lane.

In dramatic scenes, their car collides with a prison van taking injured drug dealer Harvey ( Will Mellor ) to hospital as he attempts to escape.

Dev manages to get out of the car safely but has to choose which child to rescue before the vehicle bursts into flames.

After he saves Asha, Aadi (Adam Hussain) is left fighting for his life.

ITV has already revealed one character will be killed off next week, but who will it be?

The Corrie crew got through thousands of litres of water for the episode as they filmed under rain bars at night.

Harkishin told how he had been "really anxious" about filming the scene.

He said: "You can only blow the car up once, there are no second takes. It really took my breath away. It was jaw-dropping."

Tanisha Gorey, who plays Asha, also told how she loved going on location despite the cold and wet conditions.

She said: "It was unreal, like a movie set."
