The Finance Ministry will accept orders for seven kinds of coronation-related commemorative coins and medals from March 4 to April 4, Finance Minister Apisak Tantivorawong said on Thursday.
Orders could be placed at branches of Krungthai Bank, Thailand Post and Counter Service Co. Only orders for medals with ribbon bands could be lodged at branches of the Treasury Department.
Ordered coins and medals would be delivered at the respective outlets or by mail from June 1.
The coins and medals to commemorate the coronation of King Rama X on May 4 include gold coins of 19,000-baht denomination priced at 40,000 baht each, silver coins of 1,000-baht denomination priced at 3,000 baht, and 20-baht cupronickel coins priced at 20 baht each.
The others are platinum medals priced at 1 million baht each, blackened and sandblasted silver medals priced at 5,000 baht, blackened and sandblasted copper medals priced at 3,000 baht, and medals with ribbon bands priced at 1,600 baht apiece.
The Finance Ministry has set maximum amounts on the post-order production of each of the coins and medals.
