Cornish fashion brand Seasalt expands into Ireland with Marks & Spencer

Cornish fashion brand Seasalt is expanding into Ireland this month.

The Falmouth-based brand will open three offerings within Marks & Spencer's stores as part of its ongoing partnership with the retailer's "Brands at M&S" platform.

The openings will include two stores in Dublin and one in Cork, following on from the success of Seasalt's two standalone shops in Clonakilty and Westport.

Chief sales officer, Lars Jorgensen, said: “We’re delighted to continue our partnership with M&S to bring Seasalt Cornwall to a broader audience in Ireland providing a real opportunity to grow our existing relationship, whereby we already have a significant Seasalt presence across the UK.

“Our brand has been so well received by Irish customers online, in our two Seasalt shops and through our selected independent retailers, it’s our second largest customer community outside of the UK.”

Seasalt products are now sold in over 70 stores across the UK and Ireland and via partnerships with retailers including M&S, Next and Zalando.

The expansion in Ireland follows the opening of Seasalt’s latest store in Sheffield on May 13 at the Meadowhall shopping centre. The opening marked its seventh store in Yorkshire, joining York, Harrogate, Leeds, Beverley, Fox Valley and Northallerton and created 14 new jobs for the area.

Last month, the brand partnered with pre-loved clothing platform Reskinned to offer its customers a chance to buy returned and repaired Seasalt clothing, in a bid to avoid it being sent to landfill.
