Cork punter wins over €9,000 with €50 horse racing bet

A lucky Irish punter is over €9,000 richer after landing a horse racing bet on Wednesday night.

The unnamed Cork backer placed a €50 accumulator bet on four selections, with all of them winning their respective races.

The first winner that got the ball rolling in the bet, which was placed in a Boylesports shop in Cork, was Capofaro in the 17.55 race at Kempton. He justified favouritism at 3/1 for trainer Jamie Osbourne.

Next up at Cork was Highland Dress  for the duo of Colm O’Donoghue and John Oxx at 5/2.

The bet was now half way there with the punter getting a quick double at Cork after Balefire obliged at 11/4 in the 19.05 race to bring up three winners on the bet slip.

It was down to the last race at Kempton with all eyes on Coverham and he landed the finale at 5/2 for James Eustace to complete a winning accumulator for the Cork native who was able to call back into their local BoyleSports shop and collect a tidy sum of €9,187.50.

Sarah Kinsella Spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Hats off to our Cork customer who made little work of some nicely price winners to take us for €9,187.50. They were clearly dreaming big and we wish our customer the best of luck with their winnings”.
