Cork pop singer Lyra in shock after hearing her song playing on Love Island

It was almost enough to make a girl splutter into her Barry's tea - Cork pop star Lyra was just settling down to watch Love Island when she heard her own tune Falling playing on the show.

The seriously talented Rochestown woman is now living and recording in London.

She had plonked herself down on the sofa to watch the wildly popular reality TV show when she got a major shock, Cork Beo reports.

Lyra tweeted: "Sitting in my own villa (flat) last night and Falling came on!

"Yes I kept rewinding and repeating it but I can confirm I was sat there in my bikini (dressing gown), next to a hot man (my dog) with a Pina Colada (Barry's Tea) whilst doing so!"

A moment of massive exposure, you really can't pay for this kind of publicity!

Lyra recently returned to her hometown on May 29th to play Cyprus Avenue and her new single should get a lot of interest thanks to its use on the show - a peak audience of four million people were tuned in for the episode.
