Brazil legend Kaka was no match for Cork's John Casey at last weekend's Berlin Marathon as the 55-year-old out paced the AC Milan legend.
Kaka hung up the boots back in 2017 and is keeping up his fitness by doing some long distance running.
But the former Ballon d'Or winner was unable to keep pace with Togher athlete John Casey.
The 55-year-old clocked in at an impressive 3.30.29 with Kaka running a further eight minutes behind.
Togher Athletic club said: "Massive congratulations to Togher ACs John Casey who knocked it out of the park in today's Berlin Marathon in 3.30.29. What a run to be a part of, where a new marathon world record was set."
And although there were impressive performances from both Casey and Kaka, the start of the show was Eliud Kipchoge.
The Kenyan athlete further cemented his legacy as the greatest marathon runner of all time as he broke his own world record.
Kipchoge stormed to victory and beat his old world record form 2018, setting the new time as 2:01:09.
